Jacob Tompkins, a 23 year old Australian electronic artist and producer with a focus on electronic, house, and indie-dance music. At age 18, Jacob found his groove playing at local clubs and events, quickly building a taste for unique dance music that showcases artistic authenticity.
With a natural attraction to artist’s pushing their boundaries, Jacob created Credits Records, an indie Australian record label that aims to spotlight expression and organic, yet (potentially) off-beat creative choices. This has led to the fostering of a community of like-minded artists who align with the same ethos. The label is currently busy revealing new signings, and preparing for upcoming releases including a compilation series + other live & interactive experiences.
Having performed at some of the nations finest clubs, events and festivals, Jacob’s recent EP via Credits Records, ‘Star Walk’ received notable air-time on BBC Radio 1, along with multiple ABC Australia (Sunshine Coast) plays, accompanied by insightful interviews.
Australian Powerhouse label Sweat It Out launched a VA series under its new banner ‘Cut-a-Rug’, where Jacob debuted his single ‘U Got It!’, alongside some of the world’s finest producer - led by Aussie gun, Caleb Jackson. Refuge Recordings, a leading Australian tastemaker label hosted Jacob for 2 EP’s between 2022 & 2023, exposing him to the culture of underground music via label head, legend and DJ, Oscar De Lima.
Now based between Queensland and Sydney, Jacob has just completed an album designed for a live show experience, not to mention a long list of club orientated singles ready to fire off. With the focus clear and the momentum building, we can’t wait to see what the coming years have in store for Jacob.
