Boorloo/perth DJ Jacob Steenson, better known as Small Boss, is a fresh face on the scene, having bought his first controller (an old DDJ WeGo) at the start of 2024 to kick off his career. With basic skills for mixing developed, Jacob has been focusing on concepts for free-mixing, whilst continuing to explore a wide range of electronic styles.

During his first year playing, Jacob has been lucky enough to open up a door into the WA festival community and was invited to play his first set at Blossom Festival in September.

For this mix, Jacob decided early on that he wanted to curate a faster-tempo party vibe, as je has not had many chances to go extra juicy. Fittingly, the mix is a great representation of the Tech House & Breakbeat styles that he enjoys most, with percussion a driving force throughout.
