“Oriental by birth and Western by training,” Tong 桐 is a co-founder of FADS and stands out as one of the few Chinese queer house music DJs based in Naarm/melbourne. He is a torchbearer for Chicago/NY House and Detroit Techno.

Born and raised in Northern China, Tong’s passion for dance music ignited in Beijing’s only underground club at the time, 灯笼 Lantern, where the soulful swing of Chicago House and the gritty grooves of Detroit Techno captivated him.

Now based in Melbourne and having refined his skills under the guidance of top mentors, Tong has showcased his music at renowned events and venues such as Poof Doof and Kiki Bouba Party. He has also founded his own house music event, “Hell Yeah Chicago,” dedicated to preserving and promoting the sounds of Chicago/NY House.

Tong’s sound is both diverse and eclectic. Influenced by legends like Honey Dijon, Derrick Carter, and Danny Tenaglia, he weaves together elements of groove, funk, jazz, vocal, tech, and acid to create his unique house music style.
