Isn’t it nice to have a brand-new computer that boots up almost immediately? You turn it on and bam, it is ready to go to any apps or the browser just starts right away. No spinning wheel, just action. Then, later is slows down or stops. Re-boot. That usually works in most circumstances. Wouldn’t it be great if our life would work like that? Gets slow or fails and we could re-boot because failures usually compound failures.
Peter, Simon Peter, Cephas (all the same person) left his fishing business and was working great. He joined with Jesus, got his mother in law healed, walked on water, confessed Jesus as Messiah, Jesus explained to him about forgiving 70 x 7, he was involved in setting up the Last Supper (Passover meal)…then he gets slow. He gets under pressure and denies knowing Jesus three times. After the crucifixion of Jesus, Peter goes back to fishing. He felt like a failure. You know, failures normally compound failures. Jesus didn’t want Peter in failure, and he does not want us in failure. Jesus gave Peter a re-boot. He was never the same after. Neither will you be. Re-boot.
