In the first message of our Daily Bread series, we discover that following Jesus is more than a one-time decision. True devotion is a daily surrender, commitment to Jesus, and transformation into His image.

Jesus is coming again, and we are called to live ready. As we look forward to His return, we are challenged to live for Him, stand firm in His truth, and share the gospel so others can know Him.

In 2 Peter 2, Peter warns us about false teachers and the danger of being led away from the truth. We stand firm against deception by staying rooted in Jesus, knowing His Word, and trusting that He knows how to rescue the godly.

Knowing Jesus changes the way we live. In 2 Peter 1, we’re reminded that God has given us everything we need to live a godly life. As we grow in our relationship with Him and His Word, our faith should produce spiritual growth, purpose, and a life that reflects Jesus. We’re called to keep growing, stay rooted in truth, and live ready for His return.

Because we have Jesus, we can have confidence. 1 John 5 reminds us that our confidence isn’t in what we do, but in what Jesus has already done. Through Him, we have victory, eternal life, and confidence to know God and walk with Him.

What does it look like when our love for God becomes love in action? In 1 John 4, we see that believers pursue truth, predetermine to love, and persistently put that love into action. When we live like Jesus through forgiveness, service, compassion, and love for others, people get to see the love of God through us.

In Christ, we are more than forgiven we are children of God. 1 John 3 reminds us that our identity shapes our future, our lives, and the way we love others. As children of God, we are being transformed to become more like Christ, called to walk in righteousness, and empowered to love through action, service, and sacrifice. Because of who we are in Christ, we can live like His children.

If we truly know Jesus, our lives should reflect Jesus. In 1 John 2, we discover what it looks like to know Him: walking in obedience, loving others, standing in truth, and remaining in Christ.

Jesus is the Word of Life who reveals God to us, brings us into fellowship with Him, and transforms the way we live. Through Jesus, we see who God is, experience relationship with Him, and are invited to walk in His light. When we confess our sin, He faithfully forgives and cleanses us, giving us the abundant life He came to bring.

A fortified family is built on a foundation of faith, nurtured through loving discipleship, and strengthened by mutual honor. As we run to God together, grow in Him together, and honor Him together, our families can stand strong through every season.
