Read the Easter story in John with me (Easter special 2026)
Happy Easter friend!
Today we are going to be reading the most important story in the Bible as a Christian. The story that all our faith hangs upon. The story of our savior who died—taking on our sin and paying the price which is death—and who was raised from the dead and defeated sin! In Jesus we are saved. In him we are made righteous not by anything we can do but because of everything He did for us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” —John 3:16-17
I’ll be reading from multiple passages in the book of John because I want to give a clear picture of what is happening. This (similar to our Christmas special) will be just me reading the Bible. I don’t want to have any commentary. I really just want to read this life changing story to you. This is the story of our salvation—of the day when we were saved and were adopted as children of God. Only through Jesus are we adopted as his children. Only through Jesus can we attain eternal life which is to know God.
So grab your Bible (I’m using an ESV translation) and a cup of coffee or tea if you’d like and let’s read the Easter story in the book of John together!
