Reuben's infamy is again recounted, along with more explanation for why Judah was listed first in the genealogies. We hear of a war with a people called Hagrites during a time when the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Mannasseh were trusting in God. Two Assyrian kings are also mentioned, Pul and Tiglath-Pileser, who are stirred up against these tribes because of their wickedness. Read from the World English Bible.
