This was so fun! Besides the bad poems, intense repetition, hints at Marxism from kids who can barely read the Communist Manifesto, and political turmoil to be read between the lines, getting to go back to the time when good literature was less critical than producing it in bulk was terrific! I have to give a huge shout-out to my friend Kira for joining me and listening to my antics! One important conclusion- we were strange children with... interesting personalities. For those of you asking, yes, the cover art does feature a piece of art from the book which I freaked out about. It's even more haunting in person.
