When the church last gathered for worship  was the public reading of the Scripture in the assembly a part of the worship service? I do not refer to a minister reading a verse or two and then preaching on it. Was a significant section of the Bible or portions of the Bible read aloud as an act of worship? We are commanded to worship God with his Word read as well as taught it.
