On the Poetry Show broadcast of December 20, 2015, host Dennis Morton began by reading part of an essay by Dana Gioia, newly appointed Poet Laureate of California, followed by a few of his poems.

Next up were poems by Donald Justice, Katha Pollitt, Ramandeep Johal, Marge Piercy, Juanita Brunk, Tilly Shaw and John Updike.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Later on, we heard more recordings of poets reading their own work - from a CD we started playing last week, published by the Academy of American Poets, Audio Archive Anthology, Vol. 1. Poets we heard this time included:
