Earlier in May the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar received an open letter from a massive coalition of 80 national pro-life agencies.

A long held concern is that Federal Funding through the Title X Family Planning Program violates the long standing Hyde Amendment which bans the use of Federal monies to be used for abortion. However, this money is often tangled up with organizations like the abortion giant Planned Parenthood for which Title X funding makes up its second largest funding stream.

The open letter requests a return to Reagan era regulations which would simply not permit monies to go to organizations where abortion is performed as a method of family planning.
