In 2019, New York legislature passed the Reproductive Health Act, pitting abortion rights against freedom of religion. The board is set. The game is on. The law paves the way for coercion of pro-life Christians, forcing participation in abortion against their deeply held religious beliefs through direct service or referral. Depending on how the bill is interpreted, refusal to participate in abortion could be viewed as denying a woman’s human right to end the life of her human baby.
