We interview Charlie Stern (he/they) and Zack Budryk (he/him), hosts of the podcast Stim4Stim, a project that was formed in direct response to Netflix’s Love On The Spectrum and the insulting level of infantilization and paternalism on display therein, but has grown to so much more. Stim4Stim is a relationship advice show by and for autistic adults, in a world that views autism as a permanent and perpetual childhood. The unofficial motto is: “Autistic people fuck.” In this week's episode, we discuss the actual reality of dating on the autism spectrum, avoiding co-dependency, and helpful dating hacks for everyone—whether neurodivergent or neurotypical. Charlie Stern is an artisanal zookeeper and matchmaker based in Brooklyn, New York. They are a photographer, a poet, an essayist, and a coordinator and connector of all things and people. Their work is oriented, cross-genre, around the surreal, the sensual, the sacrilegious, and the sick. Zack Budryk is an environmental reporter, crime novelist and wife guy, usually not at the same time. His writing has appeared in The Hill, The Washington Post and USA Today, and his suits have gotten as many as 3 Instagram bots asking if he wants to collab. Stream Stim4Stim anywhere you're listening to this podcast, and follow them on Twitter at @Stim4Stim, Zack at @BudrykZack, and Charlie at @iconicvines.
