I’m generous and you’re not.
Proof:
I’m taking a risk by calling out your behavior. I could alienate everyone else. You, on the other hand, aren’t taking any risks. You’re playing it safe by giving generic advice anyone could find with a 10-second Google search.
See the difference? I’m taking a risk and you’re not.
Yes, I know what I’m asking you to do isn’t comfortable. I know it doesn’t feel safe. It’s not supposed to.
I’m asking you to take a risk:
* to stand behind your own words,
* to be a person of integrity,
* to be the change you want to see,
* to commit to values-driven actions.
Yes, there’s probably a better way to say this. But, you’re the expert on better ways to say things, not me.
So, if you believe in this message, and you want your friends to be able to believe in it, you should help me rephrase it.
You should help me rephrase THIS message, not a different one.
Not a message about how awesome community is.
Not a message about how you’re good enough just as you are.
Not a message about how you should be in a flow state 24/7.
But a message about how one’s words should match one’s actions.
The message of MY path.
The message of Kormanism.
Let’s contrast that with your path.
Here’s what your path leads to:
* money first, deal with the human stuff later,
* post whatever gets the community to give me momentum, no matter the cost of conformity, no matter the bubble, no matter whether it’s a sustainable ideology,
* pity over compassion,
* “watch and wait” over “be the change”,
* if I have a problem with the relationship, I’ll just blame my partner. I don’t need to take on 100% of the responsibility myself.
Come on, I’m being generous.
Copy me.
