Hebrews 12:12-15
Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
Our vertical relationship with God always prepares us for our horizontal relationships with others.
Are you looking carefully at how you live?
A root of bitterness will steal the very life that you want.
Ideas to help in conflict:
Make room for opposing views - opposition is good for humility
Learn to disagree with Integrity - Arguing doesn’t have to lead to assassination
Stay motivated when you don’t get your way - Don’t slow the work of the Lord down because you didn’t win.
Big Idea:
Conflict doesn’t always have to do damage. It can actually draw us closer together.
Closing Thought:
As Christians, pursuing peace is a non-negotiable.
