reality tv - when leave it to beaver was on, lots of kids grew up thinking that was reality. we all know now that it's not. but what we see today on tv is no more real as leave it to beaver was back then.
Reality tv - ha is there anything more NOT reality than reality TV? It is the same with social media, its not reality, even the stuff I post isn’t true reality in the form of you knowing everything about me. I was really under attack yesterday… but I don’t post that stuff on Social media. I spent most of the day in my underwear… aren’t we glad I don’t post that on social media… but what is reality?
REALITY
A woman was showing a friend her new baby The friend said ”she’s beautiful “ the mother exclaimed “this is nothing you should see her picture”.
The Bible has many things to say about reality, including:
- God is the basis for reality
The Bible says that God created the heavens and earth, and that everything visible and invisible was created by God…. God sees beyond what people want you to see or what they think God sees.
The Bible says that God cannot lie, and that reality would change to comply with God's Word if He did. If God can only tell the truth than he is definitely the one you want to understand reality through correct?
The Bible says that humans can choose to live in accordance with God's Word, or they can choose death…. Think of it, if you choose to believe what is not real - whether its a social media post, a political leader or a rock star, superstar athlete or movie star… you are choosing what is not real… you get to choose.
The Bible says that accepting God’s reality opens us up to hope because it invites God into our reality.
The Bible says that the wise person looks ahead and faces reality, while the fool tries to fool himself and won't face facts.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit helps us discern truth from lies, authenticity from deception, and holiness from hypocrisy.
I was sitting in the house of an amazing guitar player in an award winning secular band, he had it all, the GF who was smoking hot, the great career, a killer guitar player and money to boot. I asked him as we sat alone and were jamming together what else he needed in order to be happy… he stopped and with a solemn look said “I was just asking myself that today”… Im not sure. NOW HERE IS A GUY WHO THOUGHT THE WORLDS REALITY WOULD BRING FULFILLMENT… it hadn’t. The worlds reality over promises and under delivers… seek Gods reality.
