You’ll often find yourself falling back into old, regrettable ruts until you’re captivated by the worth and value of something new and better. But who or what is great enough to break old, devastating patterns and secure lasting change?

What does it look like to set our minds on the things above? And what changes when we do? On a bonus episode of Unlocking Colossians, Christian and Matthew examine the fruit of setting our minds on things above through the lens of the Lord’s Prayer.

Everyone is looking somewhere to find themselves. Where are you looking? Some look within; some search high and low; others scour ancient religious texts. Not everyone agrees on where to look, but everyone seems to agree it’s concealed somewhere. Christian Faith shows us that this true you isn’t something you discover yourself. Instead, it’s revealed; uncovered for us. So where and how is it revealed?

Both ancient religious regulations and contemporary self-help routines focus on prohibitions: “don’t do this or that,” lacking the power to restrain wayward desires or satisfy right ones. At best, they leave us empty-handed. At worst, they leave us defeated. But Christian faith invites us to lay hold of real substance, real hope of change, and a real future—by calling us to lay hold of a real person.

Where do you turn to feel whole? What do you seek to feel complete? “If I just had that job. If I just had that title. If I just had that spouse or that child.” Many learn the hard way that even when they get what they sought, it fails to make them whole.

In our final episode, Christian & Kristen break down each chapter of Colossians, and offer some key insights that we can draw from the apostle Paul’s writing.

What if Christianity wasn’t as complicated as some make it out to be? Following Jesus isn’t easy; in fact, it will cost you everything. But what if there was a simpler way to grow, instead of feeling like you have to add one more layer of religion on top of another?

In this episode, Christian and Kristin breakdown the various ways that we can approach the book of Colossians and practices that can help us to grasp it more fully.

What is the meaning of life? Why am I here? What’s wrong with this world? How can it ever be made right again? Although these are timeless questions, time itself has not answered them.

Times change and cultural trends shift, but humanity’s search for meaning, truth, identity, and belonging is timeless. It’s a quest for discovery no one can escape. But what if all of these, and more, were found in one place?
