Rain poured down onto the old temple mound that the heroes had finally reached after their journey through the sea cave. Six statues covered in vines and two buried in rubble rest on the ground around the base of the temple mound; each depicts a different humanoid creature trembling in servitude to whatever is on the mound.

Up on the mound’s platform are four other obsidian statutes of fearsome creatures holding basins out over a wide pit in the center of the platform.
