Molly was studying abroad in Europe and felt very alone. One evening, her roommate shared with her about Jesus and it led her to wanting to know more about Jesus. A few nights later, Molly accepted Jesus into her heart. Molly’s grandmother had planted the seed by praying long and hard for her salvation, for years. It was Molly’s European friend who reaped the harvest, and led her into eternal life.
In the book of Acts, Philip meets an Ethiopian man in a passing chariot in the desert, reading Isaiah chapter 53 along the road. Now the man did not understand what he was reading. The Bible says the man asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
Philip was able to immediately plant the seed about Jesus Christ, which very soon led to the water baptism of the man. Let’s never pass up an opportunity to share the Good News. Without first planting seeds no one can reap anything. So be brave, be bold and go out to reach your world.
