"Transforming and Thriving," hosted by 3 best friends (Brooke, Stacie, and Neelia), is a podcast dedicated to showcasing the stories of resilient women who have persevered through pivotal transitions and/or traumas. In this episode, Stacie Weaver, cohost of Transforming and Thriving, shares her personal journey through becoming a mother at the age of 40...all the way through the experience from pregnancy, having Covid during her second trimester, to her traumatic week in the hospital delivering her son when nothing, absolutely nothing, went according to her beautifully planned out plan (including ending up with severe preeclampsia, and the first few months postpartum that she went into flying blind and scared and unprepared. She openly shares about her motherhood shoulds: how the birth of her son should go, how her postpartum recovery should be, and how she should seamlessly fall into this new role, this new balancing act of countless identities and responsibilities with grace and ease. She shares part of a chapter she wrote in the bestselling Amazon book, The Queen Bee: Embody Your Truth and Live Fully Expressed, giving a glimpse into the beginning of this beautiful yet challenging season wrought with whys, why nots, why me’s, and why can’t I’s—and more importantly, lessons learned about humility, setting boundaries, and finding ways to nurture and support herself in her rebirth as a mother, an identity she had never envisioned for her life.

Stacie is a doctor of clinical psychology who has supported girls and women for 22 years in their unique journeys to be in the process of transforming and thriving through transitions. She has gone through many of her own transitions, including a divorce, moves, career changes, loss of loved ones, becoming a mom right before she turned 40 (as she recounts in this episode), and is now married to the love of her life with a 3-year-old boy she adores. Stacie also teaches Pilates and has published a number of books, ranging from children’s picture books to self-help workbooks for teens.
