What better candidate for the cynical Disney remake treatment than Pixar's most commercially successful and critically reviled franchise?  From a studio beloved for thoughtful stories with complex emotional lessons, this franchise revels in sports movie cliches, redneck humor and the minimum possible character growth. Moreover, its strange world raises bizarre questions that the movies have no desire to address. Does this kids' cartoon take place in an even more disturbing post-apocalyptic future than Wall-E or what? When there's an opportunity to upgrade children's animation with existential dread and grittily realistic CGI, you better believe we'll be there to reboot it.
