Today on the show we have the head coach of Marquette University Men’s Lacrosse team, Joe Amplo.

Coach Amplo just finished his 6th season at Marquette. He’s the program's first ever DI head coach. In just 6 seasons his team already won a Big East championship and had a playoff birth in 2017. He was the Big East coach of the year in 2014. And, he was an assistant coach for Team USA.

Coach Amplo started as a graduate assistant at Hofstra, his alma mater, in 1999 - 2001. He then did one year as an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania before coming back to Hofstra where he remained until he was named the head coach of Marquette in 2011.

In this interview Coach Amplo talked about how he handled being the assistant coach of a team he just played for; how he hustled to make things work as an assistant at Upenn while still living in NY; and, the lessons he learned along the way to being named the head coach at Marquette University.
