Mercy and grace are forever in a partnership, but they are not the same thing.

Mercy is when we don't get what we deserve...because of Jesus. Grace is when we get what we don't deserve...because of Jesus. And grace is most accurately defined as "the empowering Presence of God."

** If we overemphasize mercy we trample on Jesus' resurrection. If we overemphasize grace we trample on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.
