Sermon for the Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost
Reverend Shelley explores one of the most ancient, and curious, stories in the Bible: that of the suffering Job. God allows an angel called Satan to challenge Job’s faith. His cattle, sheep and children are killed, Job’s skin is covered in boils, and even so, his faith remains.
Appointed readings are:
• Job 1: 1, 2: 1-10
• Psalm 26
• Hebrews 1: 1-4; 2: 5-12
• Mark 10: 2-16
