The media pundits like Bill Maher has been constantly telling their viewers America’s financial days are numbered. The catchphrase has been a Recession. Each day some pundit will be on the news or channel asking “is America headed for a Recession?” Podcast 88 will discuss the possibility of a Recession in America, how America is not headed for a recession, and how this is all a hype to beat Donald Trump in 2020.
What is a Recession?
Before we discuss all the talk surrounding America’s impending doom from the left, let me tell you what a Recession is. A recession is a period of temporary economic decline during which trade and industrial activity are reduced, identified by a fall in GDP in two successive quarters. Recession is not something physical you can put your hand on like a car. It is simply a term used to describe the economics of a country.
So let us as common sense people look at the GDP numbers. The first quarter GDP saw America at a growth of 3.1%. This is up from 2.2% from the previous quarter of 2018. So first we have seen an increase in our GDP. The purpose of telling you this is to show that we would have to have the next two quarter GDP numbers to drop consecutively to shows signs of a Recession. While I am not saying this is not possible, I do not feel it is practical.
Driving forces for the Recession discussion
First, we need to understand the driving force behind the trigger word Recession. That is force is the 2020 election. The socialist democrats thought Trump would not win number one. When he did win they had an “insurance policy” known as Russian Collusion. When that did not work they then turned to “racism.” They call the president and his supporters white nationalist.
But considering that people of all colors support this president, that has fallen flat also. The true racist like AOC, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar have been exposed, and the racism card fell apart. Now the socialist democrats are going to their playbook of next move. They realize that their only shot to defeat Donald Trump is to kill the economy. And believe me that they are going to work like hell to do so.
