oikonomeo: the execution of God’s plan on earth (verb)
oikonomos: the person actually doing God’s plan on earth
Dishonesty to your own well being for the sake of someone else’s benefit is oikonomia at its best.
“The master commended the dishonest “steward” because he had acted shrewdly...I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings” (Luke 16:8-9).
