Forgiveness and reconciliation are different, but a lot of Christians tend to think of them as the same thing. Forgiveness is something you can do by yourself in your heart, but reconciliation requires cooperation from the other person. Forgiveness is mandatory for Christians, reconciliation is a command as well, but we can only do our part.
