Introduction: Setting the Intention Welcome, seeker, to this sacred space.

Today, we embark on a journey inspired by the ancient wisdom of the Toltec shamanic tradition. The Toltec teachings emphasize the interconnectedness of all life and the importance of living in harmony with the natural world.

As we move through this Guided Meditation, we will explore these themes and awaken a deeper connection to our inner nature and the world around us.

Part 1: Grounding and Centering Begin by finding a comfortable position, either seated or lying down.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, allowing yourself to relax and let go of any tension.

Feel the Earth beneath you, ever supporting you with nurturing energy.

Imagine roots extending from your body into the ground, anchoring you to the Earth. These roots connect you to the wisdom and strength of the natural world.

With each breath, feel yourself becoming more grounded and centered.

Part 2: Calling on the Four Directions In Toltec shamanism, the four directions represent different aspects of the self and the natural world. We will now call upon these directions to guide and support us on our journey.

* East (Tlaloc, the Rain God): pronounced: TLAH-lok. Turning our attention to the East, we honor Tlaloc, the bringer of rain and new beginnings. Feel the energy of the sunrise, symbolizing clarity, inspiration, & transformation. Allow this energy to fill your being, washing away old patterns and inviting new growth.

* South (Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent): pronounced: KET-sahl-KOH-ahtl. Turning our attention to the South, we honor Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent, who represents the balance of Earth and Sky. Feel the warmth of the midday sun, igniting your inner fire and passion. Let this energy awaken your creativity and sense of purpose.

* West (Tezcatlipoca, the Smoking Mirror): pronounced: Tez-caht-lee-POH-kah. Turning our attention to the West, we honor Tezcatlipoca, the lord of the night and the smoking mirror. Embrace the energy of the setting sun, symbolizing both reflection and introspection. Allow this energy to guide you in releasing what no longer serves and embracing the mysteries of your inner world.

* North (Huitzilopochtli, the Hummingbird of the South): pronounced: weet-see-loh-POCH-tlee. Turning our attention to the North, we honor Huitzilopochtli, the warrior spirit and guardian of the night. Feel the cool, calming energy of the stars, offering protection and guidance. Allow this energy to connect you with your inner wisdom and strength.

Part 3: Journeying to the Sacred Garden With the blessings of the four directions, we now journey to a sacred garden, a place of healing and connection.

Imagine yourself walking along a path that leads to this garden. As you walk, notice the sights, sounds, and smells of the natural world around you.

As you enter the garden, find a place to sit or to lie down. This garden represents your inner nature, a reflection of your true self. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of this space.

Part 4: Reconnecting with Inner Nature In this sacred garden, you will encounter different elements that symbolize aspects of your inner nature. Allow yourself to fully experience each element and its Teachings.

* The Tree of Life: Sit beneath the Tree of Life, feeling its strong roots and expansive branches. This tree represents your connection to the Earth and the wisdom of your Ancestors. Feel the support and guidance of this ancient tree, reminding you of your own strength and resilience.

* The Flowing River: Approach the flowing river, symbolizing the flow of emotions and the passage of time. As you sit by the river, allow any stagnant emotions or thoughts to be carried away by the water. Feel a sense of renewal and clarity as the river cleanses your being.

* The Sacred Fire: Find a place by the sacred fire, representing transformation and purification. As you gaze into the flames, release any fears or doubts that hold you back. Feel the warmth and power of the fire, igniting your inner light and passion.

* The Soaring Eagle: Look up and see an eagle soaring high above you, symbolizing vision and higher perspective. Allow the eagle to lift your spirit, offering you a new vantage point on both your life and your purpose. Feel a sense of freedom and clarity as you connect with the eagle’s energy.

Part 5: Gratitude and Integration As you prepare to leave the sacred garden, take a moment to express gratitude for the wisdom and guidance you have received. Thank the four directions, the elements, and the spirits of the natural world for their support.

Gently bring your awareness back to your physical body, feeling the Earth beneath you and the air around you.

Take a few deep breaths, allowing the insights and energies from your journey to integrate into your being.

Conclusion: Honoring the Journey When you are ready, slowly open your eyes and return to the present moment.

Commit to carrying the wisdom and connection that you have cultivated with you throughout your life’s journey, remembering that you are always supported by the natural world and your inner nature.
