Hip Hop music in the 80s , especially after the "Roxanne Wars" when an emcee or group recorded a song it was not uncommon for another to record a response record often dissing the original songmaker, what I will do with this series is highlight some that you may not be aware of.

This episode spotlights the LL Cool J's "Dear Yvette" and the subsequent response records it inspired.
