Recovered Life

Late bloomers this episode is for you. It’s easy to fall into the “comparison trap” and feel like you’re behind all your peers. While “all” your friends have magically arrived your toddling along STILL trying to figure life out. Well I’m hoping to shed some insight and help you find peace in whatever season of life you find yourself in.

The last couple of years mental health has been challenged as well as brought to light during the pandemic. I’ve had some ups and downs and here is an update on things I’ve been working on and needing to work on.

We all need help at some point in our lives. Certain seasons we need more. My family is in a season of loss where help from others is necessary for us to pull through and yet I struggle with my worth at times when help is offered. If you’re like me and many others who are used to “doing it alone” let me tell you now to STOP. Part of a healthy recovered life is to allow others into our lives in support.

Let’s take a look at 1 Kings 19:1-8 to see how Elijah was encouraged to take care of himself during an uncertain time.

I am not my diagnosis of depression. It’s easy to get caught up in who we and others say we are. I’m so much more than that.

I interview him about the good, the bad, and the real ugly truths of being married to an addict who was active in her addiction for over 7 years. As well of some truths and insights on support someone you love/care for during their recovery journey. It was a lot of fun and I’m uber proud of this man. We will celebrate 14 years the summer of 2020.
