In today’s episode Sarah chats with Chris and Rahnella Adsit, the writers behind the Combat Trauma Healing Manual and When War Comes Home.
Chris and Rahnella Adsit have been serving Christian nonprofit programs for forty years. They served with Cru, Athletes in Action, Cru Military, and founded Branches of Valor International, a nonprofit serving military and first responder families whose lives have been touched by service-related stress and trauma.
Branches of Valor facilitated small, weekly group meetings called Rally Point Groups, where members developed a sense of family, trust and mutual support, to help each other connect with God and heal their mind, body and soul after trauma. In 2017, Chris and Rahnella merged Branches of Valor with Reboot Recovery, an organization also focusing on helping military and first responder families, so they could increase their impact together.
Rahnella is now Reboot's International Director and Chris is their National Resource Coordinator. They've authored several books, including the Combat Trauma Healing Manual and When War Comes Home workbook, both of which had life-changing impacts on both Sarah and John. Plus, the First Responder Healing Manual, among others.
They live in Eugene, Oregon, where they have raise four children, including an Afghanistan war veteran, a wildland firefighter and the wife of a Marine Major.
