On May 6th, 1954 Roger Bannister broke the barrier of running a sub 4 minute mile. Up until that point, this feat was considered a near impossibility. Many had tried and failed for years. Once the barrier was shattered, only a little over a month later, the sub 4 minute mile was broke again by John Landy. Then it was broken again and again shortly after. It’s amazing what people can accomplish once they’re shown what’s possible.
