The ninth commandment, "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour," establishes truth as the governing principle for justice and social life in and among God's people.

The eighth commandment, "You shall not steal," God protects the material gifts and goods that he has given to persons for their sustenance and enjoyment. We are called to be content with what God provides for us as we work diligently and seek to give to others. We are being conformed to the image of Christ, who was rich beyond measure but became poor for us.

Marriage–the exclusive, lifelong, and covenantal union between one man and one woman–is an icon of God's covenantal relationship to his people in Christ, who perfectly and faithfully loves his bride, the Church.

The Ten Commandments: Episode Eight

The sixth commandment sets the basis for our relationship and obligation to other persons, who are made in the image of God and whose lives are given and preserved by God. Murder, the willful and unjust taking of human life, bears serious consequences because the person who violates this command sets themselves up as God and destroys his image in the world.
