Reddit Small Business: "We Couldn’t Negotiate It Down... To Less Than $20,000" (ADA Website Lawsuit)
Kris relays two very different Reddit tales of settlement amounts from
ADA website lawsuits. One Redditor settled for $20,000 and another was
able to settle for $2,000 approximately 11 months ago which his lawyer
correctly stated, "is almost unheard of."

"If this was filed in the District Court for New York it’s going to be
tough to get out of it. We ended up having to settle and don’t let
people convince you it will be for a few thousand dollars. Maybe if they
know your business is very small they might settle for that amount, but
for us we couldn’t negotiate it down even with attorneys to less than
$20,000."
"Trust me, I was absolutely enraged that they are allowed to get away
with this. The same guy sued over 300 companies including us and the
plaintiff had never even been a customer."

own a business that was target of an ADA extortion for website) just
settled an ADA case for 2000. My lawyer tells me that is almost unheard
of. Would you agree? We argued the poverty case"
