This very difficult episode for me to record and release is for the man who is being abused, and needs to leave his relationship. Here...I tell you what to expect when you finally make the decision to leave. You must listen to what I have to say and take it to heart.

In Episode 13 of When Women Abuse, we pick up where the anger left off. I’m off the road, back "home"—but nothing’s changed. If anything, it’s worse. My abuser has tightened her grip, and I’m slipping further into emotional, mental, and spiritual exhaustion.

Today, we’re on episode 12 of this podcast taken from Chapter 4 of my book and it’s shaping up to be a HOT one! We’re talking about the time when my ANGER finally showed up.

In the book, this chapter opens with a short lesson in scuba diving to illustrate how pressure—both physical and mental—affects the human body. The Divers experience is one with a range of symptoms, from none, to mild discomfort, to severe debilitation, and even fatal consequences, depending on how deep they go and how prepared they are. I don't intend to scare you away from diving—in fact, I highly recommend it. When done safely, the underwater world is absolutely breathtaking.

My point is to graphically demonstrate that Abusers apply pressure, too. And just like the ocean…sometimes the pressure is subtle, sometimes overwhelming.

The deeper you descend into an abusive relationship—or into spiritual darkness—the more intense that pressure becomes. The experience of being pulled away from the light of Jesus Christ can feel a lot like a dangerous dive: disorienting, painful, and potentially deadly if you don’t come up for air.

Today, we close Chapter 2 and walk into Chapter three, where we walk into the realm of mental fog. This is where an abused man can be…“So Confused…”.  

• Have you managed divisions of a company, or even entire companies, but lately find yourself in a haze. Does it seem like trying to answer the easiest of questions is all but impossible?
• Are you known by your peers and friends to have it all together, but for some reason, you can’t seem to balance your checkbook? Plan a meal? Plant a garden?
• Does it seem like simply living life has turned into a blurry, full-time job?
• Have you caught yourself saying to yourself, “I just can’t do this anymore!”…and wonder what ‘THIS’ is?

If you are in a relationship that seems ‘off’…and if you answered ‘yes’ to one or more of these questions…you could be in an emotionally abusive relationship.

How did we wind up here? How did he wind up in the office- again? I’m going to tell you what I believe, but we’re going to start slow, with something called words. In case you don’t know this yet…words can be a trap. They can be dangerous, especially when they’re coming from someone who is seeking or trying to keep - power.

Now that we have chosen to put a dictator, who is also a felon, a liar, and an abuser in the highest chair in the nation, we face lies daily from his mouth, his administration, and his followers. Hopefully, I don’t have to tell you to stop trusting a single word that comes out of their mouths?

At 29 years old, I started my first civilian job after a decade in the military. As an hourly hand, it was my job to work the midnight shift, loading trucks with products to be delivered the next day. It was hard work, but needed so I could sweat out my frustration while working. As for pay…I was earning a fraction of what I thought I was worth...
