What does success mean to you? In today’s episode with Cameron Rogers of @freckledfoodie we discuss what it means to redefine your definition of success to live a happier life and stress less. As the building blocks of what most consider ‘successful’, Cameron and I chat about what it means to find success in things outside of work, money, and external validation. As a former employee of JP Morgan Cameron has felt the radical transition from working a job associated with status and money to becoming a self-made entrepreneur in the health and wellness scene of NYC. Her values of finances had to shift in order for her to make this new life work and in that process she redefined what success looks like to her. As another part of that journey Cameron shares what it took for her to overcome limiting beliefs, value her self worth, look past societal standards, and find her voice in her work. We discuss what it means to be honest with ourselves and brands when placing a value on our work and how to ask for the appropriate compensation. As well as how to ‘not’ compare ourselves and work with a past version of things but instead make a new standard to follow. Cameron also shares what it was like to start this work process while healing from severe heavy metal poisoning. Her health journey was a confusing time for her and she advises on how to be your own advocate in the health field while not becoming obsessed with the outcome. The final topic we discuss is of Cameron’s podcast, Freckled Foodie and Friends, and what to expect from it. We chat of the fun and work we put into our podcasts and Cameron displays why Freckled Foodie and Friends is not your average show.
