The Struggle for Breakthrough

A common experience among believers: many attend church, serve, and give, yet feel they are wandering in the wilderness without experiencing their desired breakthroughs. For example, the Israelites’ journey from Egypt, which was meant to be a short trip but turned into a 40-year ordeal due to their inability to let go of their past.

Biblical Examples

To illustrate the message, here are two biblical stories:

  1. Blind Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52): Bartimaeus, a blind man, called out to Jesus for mercy despite being rebuked by the crowd. His persistence led to his healing, highlighting the importance of knowing what one wants and actively seeking it.
  2. The Invalid at Bethesda (John 5:2-9): This man had been paralyzed for 38 years and was asked by Jesus if he wanted to get well. His response revealed a lack of belief in his ability to change. Jesus commanded him to rise and walk, demonstrating that healing requires both desire and action.
  3. The Importance of Desire

Many people do not receive healing or breakthroughs because they have not fully decided that they want to get better. Sometimes comfort in familiar struggles can prevent individuals from pursuing change.

    Questions for Reflection

Jesus often asked questions not for His own knowledge but to prompt self-reflection in others. You are encouraged to consider:

    • What do you want from God?
    • Do you truly desire healing and transformation?
    • The Role of Actions

Actions reveal true desires. You are challenged to examine whether a person’s actions align with their stated goals. For instance, if someone claims to want financial success but engages in impulsive spending, their actions contradict their words.

      The Blueprint for Change

Take the story of Noah, who had to build the ark according to God’s blueprint. Similarly, believers must actively participate in their spiritual journey by applying God’s teachings in their lives.

      The Battlefield of the Mind

The real battle for spiritual victory occurs in the mind. In the book “Battlefield of the Mind”, it emphasizes the need for believers to take control of their thoughts.

      Renewing the Mind

Romans 12:2 calls for transformation through the renewing of the mind. This process requires intentionality and effort, as believers must actively choose to align their thoughts with God’s word.

      Overcoming Strongholds

It is important to recognize and demolish mental strongholds that hinder spiritual growth. Take every thought captive and align it with the knowledge of God, as stated in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

      Conclusion

In closing, it is important to know what one truly wants and willing to work towards it. Everyone is encouraged to engage actively in their faith journey, remembering that God is waiting for our hearts to align with our words.

These words serve as a powerful reminder that healing and transformation require both desire and action, urging believers to work the plan of salvation and renew their minds for spiritual victory.
