Rediscovering God means we must yield to mystery. I believe we become overly familiar with the god we barely know when we refuse to let mystery takes us into His heart. I have found that when the church doesn't understand something, it is quickly dismissed as "not God" but when I look at the bible, I see Jesus only speaking in parables, hiding in plain sight, wrapping himself in darkness and so many other strange things that don't fit in our paradigm.
