Michael Myers, Snake Plissken, and Nada were all brought to the big screen by horror legend, John Carpenter. Carpenter also gave us Kurt Russell as MacReady in a retelling of the sci-fi novella 'Who Goes There?' from 1938. John Carpenter's The Thing is still considered by many to be a sci-fi and horror masterpiece.
