I think we all understand that the church is an imperfect place. But what about when church becomes a place that is unsafe, unhealthy or even abusive?
In today's episode we're talking about church hurt. At the centre of this conversation is a culture and better understanding of honour. If honour means we blindly obey and submit to leaders then it has the potential to lead to all sorts of pain.
There's plenty in this episode to help anyone walking through their experience of pain in the church.

The potency of the gathering will determine the strength of our going. Recently we've been correcting the overemphasis of the church gathering and Sunday services by placing value on the work of ministry that all the saints are called to out in the world to be salt and light.
But make no mistake, the gathering is still a very important component of your life. Neglect it at your peril. In this episode, we talk about some things that happen in the gathering that you may not have thought of before.

Where you look is where you go. When we're too preoccupied with the past or bogged down in the present, we'll find that movement is difficult. But movement is what brings life (quite literally). Getting back to a vision of the future from God will give you energy and direct your steps into all that he has for you.

Jesus said those famous words on the cross, "It is finished." And whilst so many of us believe this in theory, we still end up trying to get into space that only belongs to God. The result is tension, frustration and all sorts of difficulty. Life is difficult enough without adding more problems into the mix.
This message will help you get back to a place of faith and give you a healthy perspective on following Jesus.

Our need to be noticed and celebrated can often taint our desire to truly serve God and others. Philippians 2 encourages to look to the example of Jesus who laid down all of his strength to serve others. Not to be applauded but motivated from a place of love.
In this message we talk about virtue signalling, performative righteousness and how to get a vision for the ordinary.
