As we wind down and wrap up the year 2023, it is opportune to reflect on the political events and developments that have shaped the past twelve months. Many challenges, triumphs, and significant events across the domestic and global political landscape have marked the year. The country’s political landscape has been characterised by economic challenges, governance, and malfeasance issues, electoral preparations amongst other things against the backdrop of the persisting wars in Europe and the middle East. Looking ahead, projections for 2024 hint at more defining moments as the country heads to the national elections and the country equally celebrates 30 years of democracy. As we take stock of the year, let’s take a moment to unpack the collective lessons learned that might shape our path forward as a nation and country.
