Reflections On Not Just Another Girl."

Lately my reflections on you

have taken me in new directions

bringing thoughts I never knew

And I like the way you

changed my views

of the world at large

where you’re the

most lovely part

of everything I do

And my mirror captures

my smiling face

each morning when I rise

but the only thing it’s missing

is your sweet, sleepy blue eyes

standing next to me in the a.m.

after a long, warm night of bliss

I hunger for your company

let my breakfast be your kiss.

And though I’ll head on off to work

when I get home you’d be there

to chase away my daily blues

there’s so much more we can share...

There were times

I knew another girl

and you knew another guy

but they faded into dust

ancient history left ungratified,

and you’re not just another girl

I’m not just another guy

we are two souls that God meant to be

Mirrored in each others eyes,

reflecting only truest love

all others loves denied.

Perhaps it’s time

we take that dare

and relish all it offers,

shed all our doubts and

lose our fears

and do up our love up proper

Though we have friends and family

who are nay sayers and scoffers.

The love we share was meant for us

built on our feelings all based in trust

it’s like Teflon nothing hurled can stick

we’ll just shake it off and let flip

back to all of those who had nosy lips.

letting them know, we’ve had no interest

in the opinions they let slip

There is a cozy place for you

within my heart

there’s room for two

I long to have you by my side

both day and night

where you’ll abide

in my grateful arms,

always satisfied

as I am by all

that you’ll provide

it’s a long journey

we’ve both not tried

but babe we’re gonna love the ride

The alternative is to just go on

facing nights without you

and lonely dawns

seeing you only

when time permits

cause we both have schedules

packed with shit

that prevent so much

more we can find

if I am yours and you are mine

you’ve committed

we are the perfect fit

and let them be

nothing more then ancient history....

so I’m asking you to marry me

but we both know it’s just courtesy
