I recently spoke to YB Wong Shu Qi, Kluang member of Parliament, who was formerly a journalist with Merdeka Review and later debuted in her first election in 2013, elected as Senai assemblywoman. In 2018, she contested in Kluang parliament seat and defeated former MCA vice president Gan Ping Sieu with a majority of 23,053 votes. Here's her story about her role from a journalist to a lawmaker.
