Reframing Your Experiences: Why your story matters

Listen Later

Today's episode is centered on why our stories matter (even the not-so-fun parts). I share abit about some not-so-fun experiences of my own, that are still important parts of my own story. I share this to provide a new way of viewing the things in our lives that we wish never happened or even that we may even regret, because they still play vital roles in our story. This is not to say that we should romanticize trauma or be "grateful" for the bad things that have happened to us or that we have gone through, rather it is to understand that these events have helped shape us in some way today. I want to denounce "toxic positivity", which is the act of denying real emotions for only positive ones and denying authentic human experience. There is a way to understand how even negative experiences have shaped you without denying the pain they have caused. I am excited to explore this topic with you today. At the end of this podcast, I ask that you find time for yourself to just breathe for a few minutes, possibly reflect on your own story, and be proud of who you are and the story of You. Thank you for listening and supporting my passion!

With love and gratitude,

Ari
