Question – Are you willing to do a bit of preparation before you listen to this sermon? The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to read the letter of Philemon. It’s the shortest letter written by the apostle Paul - only 25 verses long - and comes just before Hebrews towards the end of the New Testament. The heart of the letter is about the health of the heart. It involves human relationships, gospel transformation, inspiring challenge and change in action and attitudes, and about living in such a way that honours Jesus by refreshing the lives of others. Wow, so much packed into such a short letter. Go on, give it a read. It’ll both warm and soften your heart, which is never a bad thing!
