Sermon Notes:
Refuge: shelter or protection from danger or distress, a place that provides shelter or protection. A safe place for training and healing to happen simultaneously.
Courage: the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, without fear.
Psalm 40:11-12 New Living Translation
Three ways we lose our courage:
1. We focus more on our troubles than we do on God’s faithfulness.
John 1:16-18 New Living Translation
2. We allow our sin to separate us from God’s mercy and unfailing love.
Ephesians 4:29-32 New International Version
-Foul and abusive language. The word used here speaks of something that has gone “rotten.”
-Bitterness Bitterness is a resentful spirit that refuses to be reconciled.
-Fits of rage and anger. “Rage” speaks of the person who is easily angered and who raises their voice—shouting and screaming.
3. Our problems and our issues blind us from the future God has for us.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 New Living Translation
***Proverbs 29:18 King James Version 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.***
***Speak in a Yoda voice, haha.
