In today's episode - the first of a two-part conversation - Sam sits down with Quan Huynh. Quan is the Post-Release Manager for Defy Ventures, a non-profit organization that helps returning citizens set themselves up for success in entrepreneurship. After spending 22 years in and out of correctional institutions in the state of California, Quan was paroled from a life sentence in 2015. Among many other accomplishments since then, he has founded his own company and authored Sparrow in the Razor Wire: Finding Freedom Within While Serving A Life Sentence about his experience and transformation behind bars.
