Asking for help is hard for most of us, not because we’re bad at it, but because we were taught one way of asking that was never designed for everyone. In this episode, Human Design practitioner and coach Molly Connolly explores why asking for support feels so difficult and what aligned support looks like for each of the five Human Design energy types: Manifestors, Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, and Reflectors.
Molly shares her own story of not asking for help while recovering from breast cancer surgery, including the moment on a national parks road trip when a simple question about dinner brought her to tears. She also reflects on growing up in a fiercely independent family, the friend who showed up after a 12-hour nursing shift to help her move, and how learning her design as a Generator, married to a Manifesting Generator, changed how she asks for and offers support.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
Why independence, the fear of being a burden, and feeling “not enough” make asking for help so hard
Why the “just do it” model of asking only fits some designs
How not-self themes like anger, frustration, bitterness, and disappointment signal you need support
The hard part and the aligned part of receiving support for each Human Design type
Why “I’m too busy” is a red flag for Generators
Simple questions to support the people in your life based on their type
How does each Human Design type receive support?
Manifestors receive support by informing. Telling people what you’re about to do reduces resistance and gives them a way to show up, without asking permission. Rest fuels your next burst of energy.
Generators receive support by responding. Sharing what you’re carrying out loud invites offers, and yes-or-no questions are far easier to answer than “let me know if you need anything.”
Manifesting Generators receive support by stepping back to notice their pace, deciding where to delegate, and informing others, so they can regain the speed they love.
Projectors receive support through recognition and invitation. Support isn’t optional for Projectors; working with others’ energy is how the design functions, and real rest is part of alignment.
Reflectors receive support through the right environment, time to reach clarity, and trusted sounding boards who help them hear themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Why is it so hard to ask for help? Many people were praised for being independent and low-maintenance, fear being a burden, or see needing help as failing. In Human Design, the way we were taught to ask may also not match how our energy type is designed to receive support.
Does my Human Design type affect how I ask for help? Yes. Each type’s strategy shapes how support flows most easily: informing for Manifestors, responding for Generators and Manifesting Generators, waiting for recognition and invitation for Projectors, and taking time for Reflectors.
What are not-self themes in Human Design? Not-self themes are the feelings that signal you’re off track: anger for Manifestors, frustration for Generators, frustration and anger for Manifesting Generators, bitterness for Projectors, and disappointment for Reflectors. They often show up when you push through instead of receiving support in a way that fits your design.

Six months ago, I told you we were moving to Portland. Today, I’m sharing what it’s actually been like to live that decision, and how my open G Center, also known as the Identity Center, helped lead me here.
This episode kicks off Season 5, where we’re exploring what it really looks like to live your design, not just understand it. The thread running through every episode this season is self-trust. And I couldn’t think of a better place to start than one of the biggest acts of self-trust I’ve made in years.
I’ll share why I didn’t get the excited yes I expected, what I heard instead, and what self-trust looks like on the other side of a big decision, when it’s less about certainty and more about listening.
Next episode, my friend Mary joins me to talk about trusting her design while traveling. She’s the first Projector and the first Splenic authority we’ve had on the show!

What does it actually look like to live your Human Design? Not study it, not master it, but truly live it? Especially when life is in motion and everything around you is shifting at once?
With 14 days until she and her husband Brad pack up and drive across the country to Portland, Molly has been noticing something: everyone around her is in some kind of transition right now. Not the same transition. Not at the same point. Not doing it the same way. But everyone is in motion.
This isn't a teaching episode. It's an observation and an invitation to slow down enough to notice what's happening in your own life and in the lives of the people around you. Because sometimes the most profound insights about your Human Design don't come from studying. They come from paying attention.
In this episode, Molly shares:
Why awareness is its own stage of the transition process and why we don't give it enough credit
How clarity can arrive unexpectedly in the middle of an ordinary conversation
What trusting the process actually looks like when you're living it in real time
The unplanned collective pause happening among a group of women
A conversation with a dear friend about how fluid Human Design really is
What her undefined Identity Center and 3/5 profile are showing her about this move
The invitation: Slow down. Observe the people around you. Notice where they are in their own process. And if you have your chart, pay attention to what your design might be saying about this particular season of your life.

Some seasons of life don't announce themselves. They just shift quietly, then all at once until the only way to describe it is walking on a waterbed.
Becca Creed Nimrod is a yoga teacher, health coach, and practitioner trained in sound healing, Reiki, and Human Design. She's a Manifesting Generator with a 4/1 profile and the Juxtaposition Cross of Serendipity with joy and innocence woven into her design in a way that kept her open, even when staying open was the hardest thing to do. And she arrived at this work at one of the most destabilizing seasons of her life.
In this conversation, Becca and Molly explore what it looks and feels like to lose the very things a 4/1 profile is built around: foundation, stability, and knowing what's next. And what it takes to find your way back, not hardened or closed, but more rooted and more yourself than ever.
This episode explores:
What the 4/1 profile is uniquely designed for and why change hits differently for this rare type.
How relationships become doorways and what it means when the right person shows up at exactly the right time.
The role joy and innocence play in staying open through loss and rebuilding.
What the Juxtaposition Cross of Serendipity looks like when it's actually lived.
How Human Design helped Becca understand, not just what she was experiencing, but why.
Whether you're a 4/1 navigating a season of upheaval, or you simply know what it feels like to rebuild from the ground up, Becca's story is a reminder that the fixed path doesn't always feel fixed and that finding your roots again is its own kind of serendipity.

Episode 149. What Is a Profile Type in Human Design? The Layer That Shows You How You Actually Live
There are real, mechanical reasons your sacral response can feel impossible to hear. And being unable to feel it doesn't mean it's broken, absent, or withholding from you. It just means it's being drowned out.
If you've ever tried to access your sacral response and come up with nothing, it doesn't mean Human Design "doesn't work" for you. In this episode, Molly breaks down why this isn't a Human Design problem — it's a relationship problem between you and your own authority.
She shares a moment from her own life — a couch conversation with her husband Brad about their upcoming move to Portland, a missed opportunity that suddenly reopened, and a single question she asked herself that finally cleared the noise enough to hear her Sacral response.
From there, she takes you through every authority in Human Design (Sacral, Emotional, Splenic, Ego/Heart, Self-Projected, Mental, and Lunar) and what it actually feels like (and doesn't feel like) to hear each one. Wherever you are in your Human Design journey, this episode is an invitation to get curious instead of giving up.
By the end, you'll have language for why your authority has felt so hard to trust and a few real ways to start creating the quiet your sacral actually needs to be heard.
Molly is two weeks away from pausing client services for her cross-country move, with rates increasing October 1st. If you've been wanting to explore coaching with her, now's the time.

What does Human Design actually look like when it's lived, not just studied?
This week, Molly is joined by Emily Schranck, the creative behind Empress Emily Tarot: tarot reader, collage artist, writer, and sobriety advocate. As a Manifesting Generator with a 6/2 profile, Emily's chart is woven through with self-love, intuition, and multi-passionate creative energy…and this episode is a front-row seat to watching someone step into that design in real time.
They explore:
What it means to be a multi-passionate creative in a world that pushes you to pick one lane — and how Human Design validates that impulse.
How the 6/2 profile phases work, and why the years leading up to 30 are designed to be experimental (not evidence of failure).
Why Manifesting Generators are wired to be masters of many things — and how that "skip steps, learn by doing" energy collides with the 6/2 in ways that can feel like chaos from the outside
The role of the undefined Spleen in intuition, sobriety, and accessing deeper knowing
How Gate 8 (Contribution), Gate 19 (Approach), and Gate 46 (Love of Body) show up in authentic visibility, intimate connection, and real self-care
The 35-36 channel (Transitoriness, Jack of All Trades) and why experiencing life at emotional depth is a gift, not a flaw
What Emily is releasing as she closes out this first chapter — perfectionism, conventional expectations, and the idea that her path should look like everyone else's
Emily shares her journey from comparing herself to others, leaving college early, and feeling like a failure to stepping fully into her authentic expression as a writer, tarot reader, and collage artist. She's been betting on herself: showing up at events, putting her work out into the world, and watching it pay off in ways she couldn't have predicted. And the story of how her latest freelance writing opportunity came to be? Pure kismet and very on brand for her design!
This is a conversation about self-trust, creative permission, and what it looks like to build a life that actually fits your design.

Episode 149. What Is a Profile Type in Human Design? The Layer That Shows You How You Actually Live
If you've spent any time in the Human Design space, you've probably heard it: manifestation is for Manifestors and Manifesting Generators. Their defined throat connected to a motor center is what makes it possible and everyone else is just along for the ride.
I'm here to bust that belief wide open.
In this solo episode, I'm sharing what's actually in every Human Design chart that supports manifestation, regardless of your energy type. Whether you're a Generator, Projector, or Reflector, your design is not passive. It's active, it's creative, and it's already working.
We'll dig into:
The Magnetic Monopole and why it lives in all of us
The Identity Center (G Center) and what it actually does energetically
How Mercury gates in your chart may be quietly broadcasting your desires into the field
The role of your Incarnation Cross as a directional current running through your life
Why living your Type, Strategy, and Authority is the foundation that activates all of it
I also draw a fascinating parallel between Human Design mechanics and the science in Dr. Joe Dispenza's Becoming Supernatural, because it turns out they're describing the same thing with different maps.
And yes, I share three personal manifesting stories. Two of them happened before I even knew what Human Design was. Pull up your chart for this one. You're going to want to see it with fresh eyes!

Episode 103: Couch Conversations: Brad’s Take on My Spreadsheet
What if the emotions you've been fighting against your whole life were never a flaw — they were just part of your design?
In this episode, I'm joined by my best friend Sam and her husband Ross for one of my favorite conversations yet. Sam is the owner of Wild Rose Witch, where she crafts herbal magic and offers intuitive readings rooted in ritual and ancestral wisdom. Together, Sam and Ross have been married for 10 years (together for 20!) — and for Sam's birthday, I gifted her a Relationship Reading.
Today, we're unpacking what happened when they watched it together.
Both Sam and Ross have a defined Solar Plexus, which means they both carry Emotional Authority and ride emotional waves. In this episode, we explore what that has meant for their communication, their conflicts, and the way they've grown — both individually and as a couple.
In this episode, we cover:
What Emotional Authority and the Solar Plexus center actually mean in Human Design
How emotional waves show up in long-term relationships and during conflict
Why validation (not fixing) is often what we need most
What it's like to receive a Relationship Reading as a skeptic
How having a shared language for your emotions can bring you closer
That voice that says "something is wrong with me" in the middle of a big feeling? Sam and Ross are proof that it's not a flaw. It's just your wave!

You've learned your energy type. You know your strategy and authority. But there's a layer that makes it all feel personal — and that's your profile type.
In this episode, Molly breaks down one of her favorite parts of human design: the profile lines. This is the part of your chart that reveals not just who you think you are, but how you're actually designed to move through life — through your relationships, your lessons, and even the mistakes that turned out to be your greatest teachers.
As a 3/5 herself, Molly shares how understanding her own profile type was the moment everything clicked — and how it can do the same for you.
What You Will Learn:
What a profile type is and how it's different from your energy type
Where to find your profile type on your human design chart
The 6 lines of human design and the core themes of each — from the investigator to the role model
The three life stages of the 6th line and how they shape your entire lived experience
How projections — both positive and negative — show up differently depending on your profile
A quick overview of all 12 profile combinations and what makes each one unique
That part of you that has always learned by living it, tried everything, or felt like you were meant for something bigger but couldn't quite explain why? That's not a coincidence. That's your profile.
Ready to stop learning your design and start living it? The Embodiment Mentorship is a six-month, one-on-one experience with Molly built for real life — not perfection. If you've been craving more than just information and want a true dedication to yourself and your design, this is it. Apply here by May 31, 2026.

You complete me. We established that in Part 1. But what happens when "completing" each other also means you're the ones pushing each other's buttons — and somehow, your Human Design chart predicted all of it?
In Part 2, Brad is back and we're going even deeper into our connection chart — this time diving into our electromagnetic channels. These are the channels where one of us holds one gate and the other holds the missing piece. And as romantic as that sounds, electromagnetic channels can show up as much as friction as they can fireworks. Sometimes both at the same time.
What I love most about this episode is that Brad and I don't just explain the theory — we share what these channels actually look like for us in real life. The conversations we have to be in the right mood for. The ways we push each other toward growth without even trying. The moments where understanding our design has made us more patient, more appreciative, and honestly, a little more in awe of how we work together.
If you haven't listened to Part 1 yet, start there — this episode builds directly on everything we covered.
What You'll Learn in This Episode
What electromagnetic channels are and why they can feel like both attraction and repulsion in a relationship
A breakdown of all five of our electromagnetic channels and what each one means for us individually and together
Why inner work isn't optional if you want your channels to show up at their highest expression
How Human Design can help you understand conflict, emotional timing, and intimacy in your relationship in a whole new way
Why Brad and I genuinely believe we wouldn't have worked out if we'd met three years earlier — and what changed
