I Samuel 17:28-33, 41-44
The only thing that will help us move past the giant of rejection is to immerse ourselves in the acceptance of Christ.
I. Understand the miracle of your creation.
Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
II. Revel in the mystery that Jesus chose you.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
III. Grasp how costly it was for Jesus to rescue you. In [Christ] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.
What is your real value? You are worth Jesus to God.
IV. Live from acceptance, not for it.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
