The Third Sunday in Advent goes by many names: Gaudete (Latin for rejoice) Sunday, Shepherds' Sunday and Pink Candle Sunday – to name a few.

The coming of Jesus as a Child certainly a “joy to the world” moment in history. But we also rejoice in Advent that Jesus will come again on the Last Day and make everything new once again as well as Jesus coming to us in Word and Sacrament every day. We rejoice in God changing everything when He comes to save in Jesus.
